Questions parents ask
Answers about The Lazy Brain stories, the €5 price, reading ages, and how your download link keeps your story file safe.
- What age are the stories for?
- They are written for children roughly three to seven, and they read beautifully aloud. Older children often enjoy them on their own, and the ideas behind each story are just as useful for the grown-up reading it.
- What exactly do I get for €5?
- The complete illustrated story as a file you download and keep — every page and picture, not a sample. There is no subscription and nothing expires.
- Why is it €5 and not cheaper or dearer?
- A printed picture book usually costs three or four times as much. Five euro covers the writing, the illustration and the hosting while keeping the whole series affordable for one family.
- Can I read a story before buying?
- Yes. Every story page has a free peek inside, and several have a longer preview you can open in your browser first.
- How do I download my story after paying?
- As soon as your card payment goes through you land on a thank-you page with your own private download link. Press it and the story file saves to your device.
- Is the download secure?
- Your story file is kept in private storage, not on the open web. The link is tied to your purchase alone, and it opens a freshly signed, single-purchase download each time — nobody can guess or share their way into it.
- Can I read it on more than one device, or print it?
- Yes. Once the file is saved it is yours: phone, tablet, laptop or printed out for the bedside table. Please keep it for your own family rather than sharing it publicly.
- Can I use the stories in a classroom?
- Please do read them with your class. For a whole school or a large group, get in touch and we will sort out something fair.
- Which languages are available?
- The website reads in English, Dutch, Simplified Chinese and Spanish, and the parent guides download in English, Dutch and Chinese. The story files themselves are English for now.
- How do I pay, and is my card safe?
- Payments run through Stripe, a payment company used by millions of shops. Your card details go straight to them and never touch this website.
- Something went wrong with my download. What now?
- Reply to your purchase confirmation or use the contact details in the footer with the email you paid with, and you will get a fresh link.
